Your Book on Film

Category: Book Marketing, Blog — David @ 3:39 pm

We were contacted by our first film producer who wants to read a pre-publication copy of Resurrecting Randi. There’s no doubt it would make a great film (I would think young actresses would kill to play the role of Layla!) and it’s generally agreed that buzz about a film can also help book sales. I don’t know where this lead came from, but the woman (Beth Grossbard) has a very credible resume having made films that included stars such as Rob Lowe and Rebecca De Mornay. (Who could have played Layla a few years ago!) I also know that when an author sells film rights it is best to “step away from the plot” as the film often bears little resemblance to the book.
